Apple requires you to create an Apple ID before being able to open an account. This Apple ID will be utilized to access all the subsequent Apple services (i.e. Enrollment center, Apple Developer Account and App Store Connect).
Before you start:
- Make sure you have an organizational email address you can use. For example: team@mychurch.com. Do not use a personal email address.
2. Acquire your DUNS number (wait time up to 2 weeks)
Apple uses a unique 9 digit code, distributed by Dun & Bradstreet, to verify your organization’s identity.
Before you start:
- Please note this process could take up to 2 weeks
- Use Apple portal to acquire your DUNS number or check if your organization already has one. Apple has a partnership with Dun & Bradstreet that prioritizes your request.
- Be prepared to provide the legal entity name of your organization
3. Submit your application (wait time up to 4 days)
Once you have your Apple ID and DUNS number, you will be able to complete these enrollment steps.
Before you start:
- Be sure you have the legal authority to bind your organization to the Apple Developer contract
- This should be done by someone who can provide billing details.
- Apple’s processing team will take up to 4 business days to review your application.
4. Finish enrollment
Once Apple has accepted your application, you will be required to finish your enrollment process by accepting some legal agreements and paying the initial $99 developer program fee.
5. Invite our team to your App Store Connect account
Once your developer account is complete, you will be able to access App Store Connect and invite us to join your team so we can publish apps on your behalf.
6. Waive your fees
Apple has announced that they will waive the $99 developer program fee for non-profit organizations. Be sure to request a refund and save your organization the expense.
Before you start:
- Make sure you have your Enrollment ID
- Once your organization has been approved, each subsequent year’s fee will also be waived.
